Welcome to Terry Parker Baptist Church on the web.

The new year will be a time for reflection and a renewal our personal commitments to God. This site was established for the sole purpose of reaching the un-churched in the Arlington area of Jacksonville, Florida. We would also like to encourage you to attend a church in your area. Come and join us as we worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We extend a warm welcome to all visitors with Christian love.
A Word From our Pastor
Grace to you and peace from God Our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ
Ephesians 1:2)
In our Church Membership Seminar and follow-up conversations we have talked about two important words-formation and missional. Formation is the process of constantly coming to grips with the continuing implications of the Christian gospel upon our lives. Becoming missional is the process of adopting and working out for ourselves, both individually and corporately, our role(s) in accomplishing God's ultimate purpose. Understanding these concepts and making them a part of our being will lead us to vitality as a congregation of believers. Let's pray for insight and wisdom to live as God's people, sharing the good news in word and deed!
We are planning an exciting Celebration of Freedom on Sunday, July 5. Come at 8:45 for coffee and donuts and juice in the church mall. Participate in a Bible study group at 9:15. Praise the Lord and give thanks for our nation in the Worship Celebration at 10:30. Then come back on Sunday afternoon for our Church Family Picnic. The Jacksonville Community Band will play patriotic music at 4:00 in the Family Life Center. And we will enjoy hamburgers and hotdogs at 5:00. It's going to be a great day!
We will continue our study of the Book of Acts during the summer months. My message for June 28 will be Wisdom from Gamaliel, focusing on Acts 5:17-42. This message will lead us into the observance of the Lord's Supper, remembering His sacrifice for us.
Invite family members, friends, and neighbors to join us for Bible study and worship on Sunday morning!

Matthew 28: 18-20: 'All authority has been given to me in heaven and earth. Therefore go and make disciples in all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and then teach these new disciples to obey all the commandments I have given you; and be sure of this - that I am with you always, even to the end of the world.'
Living Bible Translation: 'It is the duty and privilege of every follower of Christ and of every church of the Lord Jesus Christ to endeavor to make disciples of all the nations. It is the duty of every Christian to win the lost to Christ through the help of the Holy Spirit.' You are invited to become a member of our church by coming forward during the invitation at the close of each worship service.
The Scripture: The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is the record of God's revelation of Himself to man. God There is one and only one living and true God. The eternal God reveals himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being. God speaks to us through his Holy Word. Prayer is our way to communicate with God to offer praise, make a request, seek guidance, confess sins, or simply to express one's thoughts and emotions.
Salvation John 3:16 ' For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son so that anyone who believes in him, shall not perish, but have eternal life.'
Living Bible Translation:'Salvation is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior'.
The Church: The church is a local body of baptized believers who are associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel, observing the two ordinances of Christ. Baptism: Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
The Lord's Supper: On the evening he was betrayed, while Jesus was eating a meal with his disciples, he took some bread and said,'This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.'Luke 22:19,20). They each ate a piece of the bread. When we participate in the Lord's Supper, we each eat a piece of bread in remembrance of Jesus. In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying,'This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you' .When we drink a small amount of wine at the Lord's Supper, we remember that Jesus' blood was shed for us, and that his blood signified the new covenant. The Lord's Supper is a symbolic act of obedience whereby members of the church, through partaking of the bread and fruit of the vine, memorialize the death of the Redeemer and anticipate His Second Coming.
