A word from our Pastor
Grace to
you and peace from God Our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ - Ephesians 1:2
Our Children's Day Camp began on July 12
with twelve children; by the end of the first week we had enrolled
twenty-three children and twenty participated on Friday the 16th. As I
write this column on Monday morning we have seventeen children learning
about how we should treat other people. This is an exciting adventure and
we are having a great time sharing God's love with all of the children who
are participating We are grateful for this privilege and thankful for more than twenty volunteers who are leading and helping teach the children. We are also grateful for the encouragement and prayer support of our church members.
We have listed special activities for the next six weeks on the front of this VISION. Please pray for the Lord
to bless us and help us to reach people through these activities for His glory! Note that we will sponsor a
Community Health Fair on Saturday, August 14. This is a special outreach activity designed to provide important services for our neighbors. This activity will also involve some new friends who are helping us explore
opportunities to minister to our Hispanic neighbors in the Arlington Community. Watch for more information
about the Health Fair and plan to participate.
We will continue our study of the book of Romans as the focus of messages for our Sunday Worship Celebrations.
For July 25 my message title will be Abraham: A Picture of Righteousness
(Romans 4). For August 1 my title will be The Saving Grace of God and our
worship will include the observance of the Lord's Supper .
Cindy and I are profoundly grateful to the congregation for the exciting gift of a trip to Alaska. We appreciate
this special expression of love and look forward to a wonderful vacation, August 3-10.
