PRACTICING OUR FAITH
I believe that everything we do reveals something we believe about our life and about God. Whatever we are doing reveals by
our choice to do it that it is more important or urgent than some other thing we could be doing. Disciple- ship is often
relegated to the spiritual side of life ... as if it can be isolated and separate from other parts of life; then we choose
to do spiritual things based more on the circumstances than a sense of who we are. It can be a convenient arrangement, but
I firmly believe our calling is more pervasive. Discipleship relates to how we understand our responsibility to God's Kingdom
and how we relate to His Church. The practice of our faith must affect all of life; from the way we live day by day to the
special events that frame our days.
NEWS
The past two weeks have been quite productive as I have begun to reorganize my daily routines and establish plans for
ministry networking.
Plans for Sunday morning Young Adult Bible Studies have been outlined to challenge the more common interpretation of the
Gospel Jesus proclaimed; to ask the question. "Did we really understand it?" You can follow some of this if you are
interested as I have been posting the preliminary discussion guides these past few weeks on my Internet
blog:www.ebendale.lcom.
You can also find me (Dale Nixon) on Facebook if you're interested in connecting with me there.
I offer my prayers and God's blessing to Bre as she concentrates on completing her undergraduate work. Until the future
student leadership is secured, I ask for your support in prayer and will keep you informed when more specific needs arise.
Much more is in the works as Howard and I continue to plan for the Formations Workshop which will be much improved; as your
entire church ministry staff transitions to a more effective Membership software program; as we work with the Property and
Stewardship committees to replace some currently "under-performing" office equipment. Finally, I finished my final work at
LifeWay this past weekend by returning Saturday and Sunday to assist with the annual inventory. I look forward to going and
growing with you as we seek to build God's Kingdom together in love.
Blessings!
